Current 7th-12th grade students are invited to audition for the Highwood Theatre’s Year-Long Production featuring Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim’s landmark musical.
The Year-Long Production is a conservatory-style, audition-only program running from September to June. In addition to learning, rehearsing and performing the production, students will participate in multi-week masterclasses by Nick Blaemire and Cate Caplin, as well as masterclasses by local theatre artists, group course work, and private vocal and acting coaching. Audition slots may be reserved online at https://www.thehighwoodtheatre... Please read the sign-up document for further details on what to prepare.
Students must stay for the entire audition slot from 6 to 8:30 PM, but are only required to attend one of these dates. Students should attend auditions only if they plan to commit to the program if offered a spot.
Auditions are for acceptance into the year-long program, not casting for individual roles, which will occur a few months into the program as directors have a chance to work with students and determine where they would best fit in the production.

Students must sign up for an audition spot before arriving. Signups are available on Highwood's website. Please come prepared with all required audition materials, which are listed on the signup document.
Parents must be present at the start of the audition to sign the required audition forms.
All students must stay for the entire duration of the audition (6-8:30.) Attendance is required at only one audition date.

PARKING INFO
There is a large public parking garage located two doors down from our Silver Spring office and rehearsal space. Rates in the garage are $0.70/hour. Street parking is also available for $1.00/hour. We do not supply coins for metered parking near our rehearsal space. Please bring plenty of quarters or visit https://mobile-now.us/ to set up a mobile parking account to use in Silver Spring, MD. Parking is free after 7:00 PM and on weekends.
