Artist demonstrations and focused programs dominate the new festival style ALOG program at the BlackRock Center for the Arts running from October 26 through October 30.
On Wednesday, October 26, from 4 to 7pm, the Autumn Glow Show & Sale opens with a live model drawing session in the Kay Gallery for ALOG members. Bill Mapes, accomplished portrait artist and long-time ALOG member, organized this part of the show featuring model, Shadiyah, who will pose for ALOG members in seasonal holiday costumes. Visitors are invited to come view the exhibit display and see the ALOG members in action.
On Thursday, October 27, from 4 to 7pm, the Kay Gallery will be open to visitors. From 5 to 7pm, the program will be Photography as Art: A Panel Discussion featuring the work and commentary of professional photographers Thomas Germer, Marge Wasson, Craig Higgins and Jaree Donnelly. Audience participation is invited and encouraged. Bring a thumb drive with up to ten photos to participate in the discussion.
On Friday, October 28, from 4 to 8pm, ALOG Fine Crafters will preview their works in the Kay Gallery. This includes pottery, jewelry, sculpture and more.
On Saturday October 29, from 11 to 5pm and Sunday October 30, from 12 to 5pm, ALOG Artists in Action! will feature two dozen artists as they demonstrate their artistry live! Meet and chat with our participants as they demonstrate their artistry live. Wine receptions are scheduled each day from 2 to 4pm. Door prizes Saturday & Sunday Only! A children’s scavenger hunt is also scheduled each day for younger art enthusiasts.
Admission to the exhibit and all events is free. There is plenty of parking available on site.
