The City of Gaithersburg introduces “Books Alive! at Constitution Gardens,” a new preschool program featuring theater, storytelling, music, and crafts that celebrate literacy, the natural world and Gaithersburg’s unique history. Programs take place on Fridays, July 21 and August 4, 2017, from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
This program is recommended for ages seven and younger. Bring a blanket and picnic lunch and stay after the program to enjoy the unique nature play space. Admission is free.

July 21- MiMi Zannino
Explore Constitution Gardens with a treasure hunt and storytelling by educator, performing artist and author MiMi Zannino. Meet at the Lost Library to enjoy a reading of “Butterfly Surprise,” written and enhanced with photography by MiMi. After the story, make a butterfly craft, sing and dance to ukulele music, and end the adventure with an interactive nature walk through the Garden.
Aug 4- Eve Burton and The Twinbrook Tellers
Enjoy tall-tales, folktales, literary stories, real-life adventures, and poems with Eve Burton and The Twinbrook Tellers of the Dogwood Dogs 4H Club. Eve and the Twinbrook Tellers, storytellers ages eight to eighteen, tell stories and poems the old-fashioned way, with no books or props in hand.
