Learn the basic fundamentals of audio editing to improve the quality of your sound project whether it's for film, podcasting or music

Sound is a significant part of our lives. It's embedded in almost every aspect of daily life that we leverage to communicate our stories and political values.

Sign up for this class, so you can learn how to record audio; copy, edit, and add music, sound and more. Students will need to download Audacity (free software) that is available for the Mac or PC. You will also want to have access to a recording device during the class, whether it is a smartphone, a DSLR, or a video camera, as well headphones, and preferably a microphone that is a standalone or part of the recording device is recommended.

All of our virtual courses require participants to use a desktop computer to participate in the class for the duration of the class-- no cell phones if possible. Registrants must be able to log into Zoom, have the ability to engage during the course by having their video on, sharing their screen if sharing project assignment, etc. Some classes require registrants to download software that will be used for the course. We do not allow recording of classes by students without permission. Classes ARE NOT PODCASTS and students are required to be able to be seen (video on), respond when a facilitator speaks to them and engage in group activities as assigned. Students in classes are to be fully present during the class.
