Auditions for the Cantate Chamber Singers

 
Cantate Chamber Singers is thrilled to announce auditions for our 2021-2022 season!

We are seeking experienced singers who welcome the challenge of performing extraordinary repertoire in a high-level ensemble. There are currently openings in all sections. Rehearsals will begin in September. There may possibly be a couple of cameo choral appearances in the fall, however the full choral concert season will begin in January 2022.

Our season will include two world premieres, as well as works by Gwyneth Walker, David Baker, Joel Thompson, Libby Larsen, Franz Joseph Haydn, and many more.

Entering its 37th season and under the direction of Victoria Gau since 2019, Cantate is one of the Washington, DC area’s premier chamber choral ensembles. Its 32 volunteer, auditioned, and experienced singers are regularly hailed for artistically exciting, innovative performances of contemporary, newly commissioned and rarely heard choral works, as well as celebrated classics from the traditional repertoire spanning five centuries. Cantate’s repertoire spans in size from a cappella works up through and including works with orchestra.
