Prince George's Arts and Humanities Council in collaboration with Prince George's County Office of Stakeholder Engagement and Affairs and Prince George's County Public Schools is seeking a mural artist or team of artists from the Washington Metro Area to design, fabricate, and install a permanent mural at Cooper Lane Elementary School, located at 3817 Cooper Lane, Landover Hills. The mural is part of the County Executive's efforts of beautification, whose goal is to exchange representative stories from community members and to facilitate community-building through hands-on projects.

The Prince George’s County Beautification Initiative is a three-year effort from the County Executive’s Office to promote pride throughout the County and encourage residents, visitors, and businesses to protect and preserve the environment.

Eligibility:

  • The opportunity is open to all artists age 18+
  • Must have completed 2-3 murals of similar size in the past 3 years
  • Artists from Prince George’s County and the DC metropolitan area are strongly encouraged to apply

Budget: $10,000

Project budget includes design fees, materials, cost of installation, and travel/lodging.
