The Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County (AHCMC) is excited to announce three new community research projects in partnership with Civic Arts, MJR Partners, and Imani Drayton-Hill! Each of the three projects aim to increase our depth and understanding of Montgomery County’s complex and multifaceted communities within our local cultural landscape.
AHCMC and our consulting partner Civic Arts are hiring 12 Community Conveners (local professional artists, performers, teaching artists, and cultural researchers) to facilitate community meetings and engage local residents in cultural asset mapping research. The Community Conveners will help collect community-based data on the types of cultural assets Montgomery County residents see in their communities. Prior research experience is not required. Artist-researchers need only hold a desire to connect with fellow community members, and a capacity to help lead group conversations with local residents.

Three Community Conveners will work with the Civic Arts team starting in April 2022, and nine additional Community Conveners be hired to join them in May 2022. Compensation for the work is $25/hour, for 32 hours, for an estimated total of $800 over 30-60 days.
