Customer Service Associate


We’re looking for a writer active in the DC-area literary scene to join The Writer’s Center family as a part-time Customer Service Associate. If you’re an outgoing, friendly, and organized writer, we’d love to hear from you! This position provides customer service support on weekday evenings and weekends (as required), as well as some special events.


  • Customer service (phone, email, and in-person)
  • General administration (processing payments and registrations)
  • Facilities coordination (opening, closing, and general oversight)
  • Attending literary and community events on behalf of TWC
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred skills:

  • Customer service experience
  • Comfort with computer systems and databases
  • Familiarity with regional and national literary communities
  • Knowledge of the craft of writing, publishing, and literature

Founded in 1976, The Writer’s Center is a literary arts nonprofit headquartered in the Washington DC area, supporting writers and everyone who wants to write. Job Type: Part-time
Hours: Some weekday evenings 5-10pm, some weekends 9am-2pm (exact schedule TBD), additional hours as needed
Pay: $15.00 per hour
