Launched in 2008, OrchKids provides children educational resources and fosters social change through the power of music in some of Baltimore’s under-resourced communities.

JOB SUMMARY
The Digital Concerts Manager is responsible for managing digital concert content of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, including livestreams and recorded concert productions.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Production, the Digital Concerts Manager works with the artistic, operations, and education staff as well as other departments of the BSO to ensure that all digital concert productions are consistently at the highest level possible.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage all aspects of BSO concert livestreams and video recordings, including:
    • Pre-production such as score preparation and camera shot planning
    • Calling video cues for livestreams/recording
    • Coordinating graphics and other digital content used during livestreams
    • Organizing storage and distribution of content created during livestreams/video recording
    • Working cross-departmentally to develop multi-media elements such as lower thirds, program information slides, and other digital assets related to online concert programs
    • Post-production such as video editing and file management
  • Oversee the training of IATSE crew on in-house video equipment and procedures
  • Coordinate with library and artistic staff to acquire the rights from publishers and artists to distribute concert digital content
  • Issue agreements for personal and/or third-party use of digital concert material; pull audio and video clips as needed for distribution
  • Complete other paperwork related to digital content as needed, such as AFM reporting
  • Take a lead rolein video equipment management, including troubleshooting, general maintenance, and budgeting for future purchases
  • Manage the review and approval process for concert video content
  • Participate in concert operations and other meetings as needed
  • Support digital production needs of venue rentals and presentations in conjunction with the Associate Director of Production and Manager of Venue Sales
  • Perform additional duties as required by the BSO
