About the Position:

The Digital Programming Producer leads the digital programming efforts of the College of Visual and Performing Arts and its two performing arts centers, with a focus on capturing and broadcasting performances and events by professional artists and academic units. This position will oversee the project management of the College’s expanding repertoire of digital performances, lectures, master classes, and events.

Housed within the Center for the Arts’ Programming Department and working closely with Production Department throughout the College, this individual advises and executes on the creative development, production, preparation and delivery of content for digital and broadcast platforms, including format, distribution, length, and air time. The Digital Programming Producer is the direct liaison between professional artists or academic units, and CVPA’s Programming, Production, Marketing, and Development Departments, ensuring a smooth flow of communication between all parties.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the digital production efforts of CVPA, its two performing arts centers and galleries, with a focus on capturing and broadcasting performances and events by professional artists and academic units;
  • Advise and execute on the creative development, production, preparation and delivery of content for digital and broadcast platforms, including format, distribution, length, air time, etc; Make final artistic decisions, as necessary;
  • Serve as liaison between professional artists or academic units and CVPA’s Programming, Production, Marketing, Development, and Finance Departments, ensuring a smooth flow of communication between all parties; and
  • Develop and implement administrative processes to support CVPA’s digital programming.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent training/experience in Video Production, Videography, Film/Media Studies, Communication, or similar discipline; as well as substantial experience in the field (typically 5+ years);
  • Demonstrated history with managing projects, preferably with driving new initiatives;
  • Experience managing a set;
  • Experience producing video, audio and multimedia content;
  • Experience creating production plans that include shot lists, equipment needs, location, suggestions, scene styling/setting suggestions;
  • Experience with livestreaming on major platforms (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.) using OBS and V-Mix;
  • A solid understanding of modern production techniques (visual storytelling, shot composition, camera operation, audio recording, and lighting);
  • Advanced-level user of multimedia authoring software like Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, Avid Pro Tools, and Adobe Audition;
  • Ability to provide incredible customer service to all professional artists and academic units, while managing details and deadlines for a busy schedule of events;
  • An aptitude for project management and organization;
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills including both written and oral communications; and
  • Ability to work nights and weekends, depending on programming schedule.
