Potomac Yard Metrorail Station Public Art Project

The WMATA Art in Transit Program is working with the City of Alexandria to solicit qualifications from accomplished Artists/Artist Teams to create site-specific public artworks following the principles of Biophilic Design for the North and South pavilions of the future Potomac Yard Metrorail Station. The selected artworks will be the first in a US Transit system to introduce biophilic elements and provide credit towards LEED Transit accreditation of a Metrorail station.  The Artists/Artist Teams are asked to consider metal screens with a high level of transparency that are to be attached on the exterior of the pavilions façades’ glazed panels.
