Rockville Skate Park Call for Artists

The City of Rockville is seeking a professional public artist to create a site-specific work of art. The purpose of this artwork is to beautify the newly constructed Rockville Skate Park. The new 15,000-square-foot concrete skate park features a kidney bowl, manual pads, quarter pipes, radius wedge, rainbow grind rail, grind ledge, slappy curb and pole. The skate park is designed to be fun for every rider, no matter their age, style, skill level or wheel type. The Park is located at 355 Martins Lane, Rockville, Maryland 20850. The public artwork should seek to engage its audience and welcome visitors in a fun and unforgettable manner.

The all-inclusive budget for this project is $14,500. These funds must cover design work, engineering, fabrication, delivery, site preparation, lighting, installation of the work at the site, as well as other associated expenses including liability insurance, worker’s compensation insurance, all necessary travel, and the artist’s fee.
