The Department of Parks, Recreation & Culture has an immediate opening for a Senior Program Supervisor to manage and lead an Events Team that plans, organizes, and executes signature City events and programs, including the Gaithersburg Book Festival, Oktoberfest, SummerFest, Winter Lights Festival and more. The position requires extensive public contact and experience in community engagement, including with under-resourced populations. The ideal candidate will be an experienced, creative, and resourceful event professional who will bring a fresh perspective to existing events and programs. Must have experience overseeing staff and volunteers and coordinating with VIP’s and elected officials.
The salary range ($64,904 – $105,793) represents the full earning potential for this position. The starting salary will be negotiable within that range and will be offered at a level consistent with the experience and qualifications of the candidate (generally not above the midpoint of the range). To be considered, candidates must have a relevant Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of relevant paid, professional events programming and management experience, including experience developing marketing strategies and materials, coordinating event logistics, and managing and motivating diverse staff.
