(Rockville, MD) – Artists & Makers Studios 1 and 2 in Rockville will throw open the doors for a very special Open Studio Weekend on April 6th and 7th from 12-5pm. At more than 36,000 combined square feet, Artists & Makers Studios roster includes more than 154 artists, five galleries, and a wide variety of artistic practices and mediums – making it the largest studio complex in Montgomery County. With campuses just 9/10’s of a mile apart, artists and makers work in jewelry, silk painting, glass, printmaking, ceramics, watercolor and acrylic painting, oil painting, fiber art, mixed media, graphic design, furniture painting, photography, encaustic, quilting, and so much more – right here in one central location. In addition, browse exhibits, see and participate in art-making demos, and see artists working in their studios. Shop local and handmade with lots of small works, unique one-of-a-kind finds, and affordable items to charm everyone on your gift list for weddings, birthdays, holidays and more. Dine locally for lunch or dinner right in the neighborhood from a list of more than fifty restaurants that we supply – and do even more to support local small businesses!

Artists & Makers Studios is proud to be the studio home of some of the best artistic talent from Montgomery County and beyond. With two locations, more than 138 artist-run businesses, five galleries and additional member-run galleries, a dedicated classroom and additional flex space, a lot is happening within these walls enclosing 36,000 square feet of artistic drive and creative energy. Guests can always visit Tuesday-Saturday 10am-4pm, and Sundays by chance or appointment – and First Friday Gallery Openings combined with Open Studios from 6-9pm (major holidays move that event to the second Friday.)

Artists & Makers Studios, established in October 2014 by artist and arts community builder Judith HeartSong, are located on Parklawn Drive and Wilkins Avenue in Rockville, MD. A&M Studios is dedicated to providing a supportive and vibrant environment for artists to realize their creative goals – through studio practice, collaboration, education, opportunities, networking and connecting with the community beyond our doors.
