Caliente: Rhythms of Latin America

Join BlackRock for National String Symphonia’s Caliente- Rhythms of Latin America, highlighting the Latin-inspired classical compositions of the 20th Century, October 3 at 3:00 PM. Vaccination proof required for 12+.

The afternoon classical concert will begin with Bachianas Brasilieras No. 9, roughly translated Bach-inspired Brazilian pieces, by the Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos, written for various combinations of instruments and voices between 1930 and 1945.

The second selection of this concert is Zarabanda, the seventh composed piece from the ballet score \"La hija de Cólquide,\" (translated, The Daughter of Colchis) Carlos Chávez in 1943–44 on commission from the Elizabeth ... view more »
