Cantate Chamber Singers present Mozart’s beloved “Requiem” in a unique format, interspersed with haunting newer works exploring loss and mortality, yet also bringing a sense of peace in contrast with the powerful requiem text.
Mozart’s beloved Requiem is interspersed with haunting newer works exploring loss and mortality, yet also bringing a sense of peace in contrast with the powerful and terrifying requiem text. Featuring an orchestra and guest soloists Deborah Sternberg, soprano; Cara Schaefer, mezzo-soprano; Matthew Loyal Smith, tenor; and Stephen Bryant, bass-baritone. Additional works by Victoria Bond, John Tavener, Moses Hogan, and Andrew Earle Simpson.
