Documentary Structure and Storytelling: Structure Case Studies

Learn about documentary story and structure through specific case studies.

Analyzing the structure of completed documentary films that are compelling is essential while developing the skill of understanding storytelling and structure in filmmaking. ADMISSION INFO

This workshop is part of a series of three documentary structure-focused workshops which also include Documentary Structure and Storytelling: The Essentials of Documentary Storytelling (9/18) and Documentary Structure and Storytelling: The Big Picture of Documentary Structure (9/25) .  If you are working on your first documentary, it is recommended you sign up for all three sessions since they build on each other.  However, it is also possible to sign up for these sessions a la carte.

LEVEL
I/II – Aimed at filmmakers who have, at least some basic experience with production and are working on a specific project.

Session 3 only:

HOW TO REGISTER?
Click the "Register Now" button towards the top of the page. Because of limited space (maximum 6 participants on our workstations plus we can accommodate two more using your laptops), advanced registration is highly recommended.

NOTE ON PAYMENT
Full payment must be received to guarantee you a spot in the class.

If you are paying by credit card, select the "Paypal" option (you can pay by credit card even if you don't have a Paypal account). Payment must be made at the same time you complete the online registration form.

PARKING INFO

Our entrance is on Apple Ave. around the corner from Alexander House.

The Cameron Street garage is open 24/7 and requires payment between 7 am - 7 pm on weekdays ($1 per hour for the first four hours and 65 cents per hour for each additional hour). Parking in the garage is free on weekends, federal holidays, and after 7 pm on weekdays. You must remember your space number and pay at one of the pay stations with cash, credit card, or the ParkMobile or MobileNow apps.

You can also sometimes find nearby metered street parking as well. While street spaces are usually free after 6 pm, they do require payment during the daytime Mondays-Saturdays and most are limited to one or two hours. Meters accept coins or the Parkmobile and MobileNow apps.

Do NOT park (or even stand) in any spots marked for police only.
