Essay Contest - 2023 Local Writer’s Showcase

Calling all writers the Bethesda Urban Partnership is accepting submissions for the annual Essay Contest!

Essay Contest – Adult (18+) & Student (Grades 9-12) Categories

Topic: Open

Submission Deadline: Tuesday, January 10, 2023

Requirements: Essays must be limited to 500 words or less about a topic of the writer's choosing. Only one entry per person. Your essay must be your original work. Any essays containing material that is obscene or objectionable will be disqualified. Previously published essays are not eligible.

During our visit we attended an Open Studio session, visited the Betty Boyd Dettre Library and Research Center and saw “The Sky’s the Limit”.

We visited Alliance Comics in Downtown #SilverSpring to highlight their expansive collection of comics and graphic novels. They offer comic reservations, have a comic buyback program and even open an hour early on Wednesday for new releases. It was a pleasure visiting #AllianceComics and picking up a few $1 comics to jumpstart my collection.
