Family Fun Festival with Special Guest: O’Malley’s March

BlackRock welcomes you and families to our first ever Family Fun Festival on Saturday, July 28, 5 p.m.-9 p.m. on our outdoor stage. Picnic blankets and low-back chairs are welcome. Come experience traditional Celtic performances presented by the Culkin School of Irish Dance and a Bagpipe performance by the MacMillan Pipe Band. Family-friendly activities include caricatures, face painting, henna art and more! Food Trucks, Beer & Wine Garden open at 4 p.m. and family-friendly activities begin at 5 p.m. Enjoy Celtic Rock performed by Maryland’s very own Martin O’Malley & his band O’Malley’s March at 7p.m.

Martin O’Malley has brought together a band of diverse musicians– some born and raised in the traditions of Irish music, some classically trained, some life-long students of blues, rock, jazz. Jared Denhard, Jim Eagan, Pete Miller, Ralph Reinoldi, Jamie Wilson and Martin O’Malley are O’Malley’s March. You could call it Celtic Rock- but it is so much more. This band has refused to stand in one place and simply play the usual fare. Mixing the hauntingly beautiful, soulful and rousing music of Irish tradition with the music that was created out of the Irish Diaspora with original songs by Martin O’Malley, they continue to grow, listen, go beyond what they know, to share their intimate connection with the music they have written and the music that has written them.
