Artists & Makers Studios Presents
“Dreams and Recollections”
with four Alexandria based artists

(Rockville, MD) – Artists & Makers Studios on Parklawn in Rockville will present one exhibit in three galleries for the month of January. “Dreams and Recollections” with Jenny Davis, Tanya Davis, Rachel Kerwin, and Marilynn Spindler will fill the galleries at A&M on Parklawn. Fluid textures, rich colors, and a dream-like quality unite the work of these four Alexandria based artists. Exploring reflections and transparency, blooms of ink and layers of watercolor, paintings rendered over photo transfers onto wood panel, and favorite subjects rendered in perfect lighting, these four artists address their subject matter in different ways, but all are harmoniously linked in this breathtaking exhibit.

Additionally A&M is proud to present 3 exhibits at Artists & Makers Studios 2 at 12276 Wilkins Avenue in Rockville, just 9/10’s of a mile from the flagship location. “Homage: respectful ridicule as art” with caricaturist Mike Caplanis, “Life I knew, Life Anew” with Nigerian sculptor Maduka Uduh in his first U.S. exhibition, and “Small Works” in the New Masters Art Gallery will fill the galleries at Wilkins.

These exhibits at both locations open Friday, January 6th, and continue through Wednesday, January 25th, 2017.  Viewing hours are 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Tuesday-Friday, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM Saturdays, and Sundays/Mondays by chance or appointment.

Artists & Makers Studios on Parklawn Drive in Rockville, established in October 2014 by artist and arts community builder Judith HeartSong, is a 13,000 sq. ft. facility is home to 68 resident artists. Newly opened Artists & Makers Studios 2 on Wilkins Avenue in Rockville is a 23,000 sq. ft. facility with 42 resident artists and more to come. A&M Studios is dedicated to providing a supportive and vibrant environment for artists to realize their creative goals – through studio practice, collaboration, education, opportunities, networking and connecting with the community beyond our doors.
