History of Women and the Classical Guitar- Virtual.

Join us for a presentation including discussion, listening, and performance, as we celebrate the accomplishments and contributions of women as players, teachers, and composers, with Dr. Candice Mowbray.

This presentation covers the history of the classical guitar beginning in the early Baroque period, and continuing through the 20th century, with photos and a playlist.

Dr. Candice Mowbray is a recipient of the Maryland State Art Council’s 2020 Independent Artist Award and has performed with ensembles such as Washington National Opera at the Kennedy Center, the Maryland Symphony Orchestra and Wolf Trap Opera.
