John Fahey Concert & Discussion

Born in 1939 in Takoma Park, John Fahey originated the American Primitive guitar style and founded the influential Takoma Records label in 1959. This multi-faceted event includes a solo acoustic guitar concert by Daniel Bachman in the American Primitive style. Panel discussions by local journalists and musicians also will explore the history of the D.C. folk scene and Fahey's contributions to a unique guitar style combining elements of folk, country and the blues.
