Celebrate Juneteenth, a commemoration of the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States, at Woodlawn Manor Cultural Park

Celebrate Juneteenth at Woodlawn Manor Cultural Park in Sandy Spring on June 18 and 19. Enjoy free museum admission, explore the Before She Was Harriet StoryWalk®, pick up a children’s take-home activity, and take a self-guided or guided hike of the Underground Railroad Experience Trail. (Guided hike $8 per person and requires advanced registration).

During our visit we attended an Open Studio session, visited the Betty Boyd Dettre Library and Research Center and saw “The Sky’s the Limit”.

We visited Alliance Comics in Downtown #SilverSpring to highlight their expansive collection of comics and graphic novels. They offer comic reservations, have a comic buyback program and even open an hour early on Wednesday for new releases. It was a pleasure visiting #AllianceComics and picking up a few $1 comics to jumpstart my collection.
