Love Poems by Poet Couples Poetry Reading

Local poet couples Mary Ann Larkin and Patric Pepper, along with Teri Ellen Cross Davis and Hayes Davis, will read love poems that each couple have written to each other. Mary Ann and Patric also will read love poems by famous poet couples, including Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes, Allen Ginsberg and Peter Orlovsky, and many others. The poetry includes all of the human feelings and failings of love so please join us for this romantic program one week after Valentine’s Day!

A reception will be held after the reading where the audience can meet the poets. This free reading in the Third Thursday Poetry reading series was organized by the City of Takoma Park’s Takoma Park Arts cultural series. For more info about our events, go to www.takomaparkmd.gov/arts.

Mary Ann Larkin has published five books of poetry, and her work has been featured in many anthologies and on Garrison Keillor’s the Writer’s Almanac. Patric Pepper is the author of two collections of poetry and is the publisher of Pond Road Press. Mary Ann and Patric have been members of the Capitol Hill Poetry Group for 30 years.

Teri Ellen Cross Davis is the author of Haint (winner of the 2017 Ohioana Poetry Book Award), a Cave Canem fellow, and a Black Ladies Brunch Collective member. Hayes Davis is a former Bread Loaf working scholar and founding member of Cave Canem, a workshop and retreat for African American poets.
