Mexican Day: Day of the Dead at KID Museum

Mexico’s Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos) is celebrated as a joyous and colorful festival.

Join KID Museum, in partnership with the Mexican Cultural Institute of Washington DC and the Embassy of Mexico, for a spirited day of traditional and creative activities for children and adults to enjoy together.

Create a Sugar Skull (Calaveritas de Azúcar), design a calaca (dressed-up skeleton), make crepe paper flowers, try out block printing and Papel Picado (Mexican folk art), and take part in building a giant, communal mandala skull (calavera).

ADMISSION INFO

Most Day of the Dead activities are free with $8 museum admission.

Sugar Skulls workshop additional fee: $10 members; $12 nonmembers.
