Red Sea Spies: The True Story of Mossad’s Fake Diving Resort

The Bender JCC is thrilled to partner with Pozez JCC of Northern Virginia and Weinstein JCC of Richmond to bring you an evening of spies, covert operations, and intrigue. Join author Raffi Berg and Mossad Commander, Dani Limor, to learn the true story behind Netflix’s drama, the Red Sea Diving Resort. Raffi Berg is the author of Red Sea Spies: The True Story of Mossad’s Fake Diving Resort. Dani Limor carried out the operation, found the famed resort and recruited the team of spies for the mission.

In the early 1980s, on a remote part of the Sudanese coast, a luxury resort opened for business. Little did the guests know that the staff members were undercover spies, working for Mossad, Israel’s secret service. What began with one cryptic message pleading for help turned into the secret evacuation of thousands of Ethiopian Jews and the spiriting of them to Israel. Written by longtime BBC Middle East correspondent Raffi Berg, this page-turner tells the true story that inspired the recent Netflix drama The Red Sea Diving Resort.
