Relief Work draws on the double meaning of relief: easing of pain and relief sculpture. Richardson and Benevenia exhibit mixed-media sculptures and drawings with an industrial aesthetic.

Relief Work draws on the double meaning of relief: easing of pain and relief sculpture. Richardson and Benevenia exhibit mixed-media sculptures and drawings with an industrial aesthetic. Michael Benevenia’s work references Civil War-era prosthetics, but restore the architecture of the human psyche instead of the body. John Richardson’s relief sculptures combine found industrial objects to challenge conventional ideas of reality.
