Montgomery County college and high school students can now submit entries for a poster contest as part of the sixth annual Wheaton Arts Parade and Festival. The contest winner will get to work with the Wheaton Arts Parade graphic designer to refine their design into a promotional poster for the event, according to a press release.
In addition to finalizing the event poster, the winner will receive a $300 prize (provided by the Los Chorros and IHOP Wheaton restaurants) and will win their school $100 for art supplies. The poster design submissions should celebrate art and Wheaton’s diverse cultures while communicating the fun-filled spirit of a parade and art festival.
Students should only submit original designs for the poster contest and the entries can use no more than five colors (including black and white). They should also include space for graphic elements that will be added with event information, such as date/time, a logo, hashtag and web address.
