Behind the vast and diverse Montgomery Parks system that has 424 parks and encompasses almost 37,000 acres, there is a robust team focused on interpreting the history of the Underground Railroad, 19th century African American communities, Quaker heritage, and 19th century agricultural life, at the Woodlawn Manor Cultural Park. Reporting directly to the Historic Site Manager, the Education Program Manager at Woodlawn Manor Cultural Park will lead Montgomery Parks in the development of engaging, innovative, and educational public programs for various audiences, including youth, families, adults, seniors, and school children – both homeschool and classroom on site, off site, and virtually. Interpretive programs should encourage social connections and constructive dialogue around how history informs the present-day visitors, especially those underrepresented and marginalized. Candidates are welcome with prior demonstrable experience using innovation and creativity to make impactful solutions, especially within African American historical and/or cultural museums or 19th-century historic sites.
