11160 Veirs Mill Rd, Wheaton, MD, 20902

By popular demand, WAP is bringing back public art to the streets of Wheaton. WAP will install 3 new large tetrahedrons (pyramids) around the Wheaton Arts & Entertainment (A&E) District where they will join 2 of the large pyramids created in 2020. There will be a web-based map of the locations and information about each piece of art and the artist who made it. Each of the pyramids will have 8 foot edges and will be installed around the Wheaton A&E District, from the town plaza to the Library and Recreation Center.

A regular tetrahedron is a four-sided pyramid of equilateral triangles, once side being the base. The WAP tetrahedrons will have 8 ft edges and will be constructed of half-inch plywood on three sides and will be attached to a base made of two-by-fours. The plywood faces will be primed with white acrylic paint and the edges caulked. The precise location for each tetrahedron will be determined in consultation with the Wheaton Urban District and local property owners.
