Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) seeks an experienced Director of Foundation and Government Relations to join our entrepreneurial Development team.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Development, this position has primary responsibility for generating all foundation and government fundraising proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports. The Director stewards current funders and researches and cultivates new prospects while working collaboratively with Development and other departments to meet fundraising goals. The Director participates in and supports Development cultivation and fundraising events throughout the season. This is a full-time position with excellent benefits and an annual salary of $68,000 - $73,000.

The ideal candidate will work to build sustainable funding and maximize the philanthropic potential of STC, for both ongoing operations and new initiatives. Working within a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, the successful candidate will possess excellent writing, editing, proofreading and communication skills, the ability to articulate a compelling case for STC’s mission, productions, and programs, and an exceptional ability to manage the details of multiple projects simultaneously. Comfort working with high-level foundation and government officials and a minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience in grant writing required. This is currently a hybrid position, with a mix of on-site and remote work. Please note that STC has a mandatory vaccination policy, along with other safety requirements related to COVID-19.
