FLSA Status: Non-ExemptHours: Full-time, Monday-Friday during the summer, Tuesday-Saturday during the school year

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Senior Manager of Digital Media is a content creator, editor, and educator who works cross departmentally to ensure that the organization’s digital media needs are met.  They support institutional branding and program promotion efforts by using video in a robust way to reach new audiences in partnership with the Development and Marketing teams. This position oversees our filmmaking program for teens, which includes semester courses and a robust summer program as well as special workshops.

Responsibilities:

Filmmaking Youth Education Program

  • Manages an 11-week Summer Camp for filmmaking, overseeing curriculum, final sharings, and hiring of counselors in coordination with our camp processes
  • Has oversight of parent communication for all programs including welcome letters and student behavior needs
  • Hires, trains and supervises instructional staff
  • Teaches and plans semester-long narrative film courses
  • Seeks new opportunities for youth interested in filmmaking with an eye towards growing our tuition-based income
  • Writes course descriptions and researches new instructional offerings and implements new curriculum based on student need, technological advances, and emerging trends
  • Provides guidance and supervision of the TRYKA teen council for young filmmakers

Institutional Videography

  • Works with programming staff to determine and execute archival video needs of all productions
  • Consults on multimedia and projections needs for all professional and student productions
  • Collaborates with the Marketing Department to create promotional videos, website material, and other branding needs. Provides ideas for best practices in digital marketing with an ability to execute in a timely manner around the needs of the team.
  • Produces fundraising materials using narrative filmmaking techniques to develop videos that highlight our programming, history, and future plans
  • Creates educational videos including teacher training materials, Theatre for Change educational modules and lobby displays
  • Organizes captions as needed through a vendor

General Digital Media Maintenance

  • Has oversight of the equipment and needs of the Digital Media Studio
  • Manages the organization’s Vimeo and YouTube accounts
  • Stays up to date with best practices in digital media, and advocates for the needs of the program

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • Salary: $60,000-70,000
