Job Description

Assists in all research and evaluation activities within the purview of the Kennedy Center’s Office of Research and Evaluation, including literature reviews, data collection (i.e., instrument development, surveys, interviews, focus groups), data entry, data coding, and data management. Assists in running preliminary statistics and data analysis, and contributes to report generation, including writing.

This is a hybrid hourly position with an hourly rate ranging from $25-35 per hour. The number of hours per week may vary, though it is estimated to average 24-32 hours per week.

This position is eligible for flexible work arrangements at the discretion of the manager and position needs.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 5 years of experience in the field of research and/or evaluation.
  • Experience within the field of education or social sciences preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Art Industry and Education preferred.
  • An interest in equity and social impact through the arts and arts education is preferred.
  • Ability to work across multiple tasks and produce high quality work on time
  • Organized and detail-oriented.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and a problem-solving attitude
  • Strong verbal and written communication and fluency in English (written and oral)
  • Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Some experience in the use of software for data analysis.
  • Ability to work in U.S. without requiring sponsorship.
  • Candidate must have a permanent address in the DMV area.

Additional Information

The space in the Research and Evaluation office supports 4 employees working in an open-plan office. The noise level is consistent with an office environment requiring computer based work, with the occasional phone call or meeting. Additional noise may be heard on occasion when rehearsals are in session nearby.
