One Gold Coin - Una moneda de oro

One Gold Coin - Una moneda de oro

Presented by InterAct Story Theatre at Cultural Arts Center-Montgomery College

Written by Founding Director Lenore Blank-Kelner and directed by current Executive & Artistic Director Ali Oliver-Krueger, One Gold Coin–Una moneda de oro tells the story of the wise old healer Doña Teresa who comes to the village of Regalo. She carries a gold coin that brings magic to everyone who holds it--but it must be given to one who truly needs it. Who will get the coin? And who does the coin’s magic help more? The one who keeps it or the one who gives it away? This interactive play about the power of giving is performed by three actors with help from everyone in the audience, who become part of the play from their seats.

The performance run of One Gold Coin includes a Sensory Friendly performance on Sunday, September 11th at 1:30 p.m., as well as school-day performances on Friday, September 9 and Friday, September 16 for elementary schools and homeschool audiences. One Gold Coin–Una moneda de oro connects with curriculum objectives in Reading literature and Speaking and listening while exploring important character education themes of Trustworthiness, Respect, and Caring. Teacher resource materials and parent guides containing pre-performance and post-performance activities are available.

50 minutes, best for ages 4 and up.
