This workshop is designed to familiarize the aspiring short story writer with "what it takes" to construct a fully realized short story. We will focus on how the fundamental elements of good fiction intertwine to create successful short stories. Roundtable discussions of characterization, plot, setting, theme, structure, and style highlight the emphasis classic and modern writer's place on these elements and how they compliment each other. Writing exercises and review of participant's stories will help guide the beginner getting started in the workshop experience.
