This summer marked the 150th anniversary of General Jubal Early’s Raid on Washington. As he passed through Montgomery County along the Georgetown-Frederick Road (now Route 355), Gaithersburg was in his path, where he ransacked Summit Hall Farm. That and other stories are explored in The Civil War in Gaithersburg, featuring photographs and never-before-displayed objects that help illustrate that era in the City’s history.
