The inaugural Bernard/Ebb Songwriting Awards, produced by the Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District, will feature a live concert on Friday, March 6 at 8pm. Up to eight competition finalists (including young songwriters under 18 years of age) from Maryland, D.C. and Virginia will perform. The musical genres will vary and could include a mix of Adult/Contemporary, Broadway/Musical Theatre, Country/Bluegrss, Folk/Acoustic, Gospel/Inspirational, Pop, R&B/Hip Hop/Urban, Rock/Alternative and Vocal Jazz/Blues. 

The winning songwriter, who will be awarded the $10,000 Grand Prize, will be announced at the close of the show. One of the young songwriters will also win a $2,500 Young Songwriter prize.
