Gerdan, a flute and violin duo, presents a concert program featuring contrasting musical styles in the musical traditions that define Eastern European music. The program will be played on authentic flutes from around the world.
Gerdan presents a Kaleidoscope of Classical and World Music in addition to musical selections by Bach, Dvorak and Shostakovich.
Gerdan takes a world tour of Eastern Europe, Asia and Latin America with classical, ethnic and folk music traditions. The concert will feature exotic flutes of all sizes – from the small ocarina to the large fujara – accompanied by folk dance (and captivating violin in the duo program). Guest pianist Li-Ly Chang will join them to perform Bach Flute Sonata in Eb, Dvorak Sonatina op 100, and Shostakovich 5 Pieces.
