A Memory, Revisited: Dalya Luttwak

Presented by Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts and Culture at Glen Echo Park

The Glen Echo Park Partnership is pleased to present A Memory, Revisited – Dalya Luttwak. This installation is based on Luttwak’s Kousa Dogwood tree, a staple of her garden, which suddenly died last year. The sculpture incorporates the erect tree in an attempt to revisit her personal memories of a favorite plant. Curated by Ramon Osuna, Owner of Osuna Art & Antiques.

Since 2007, Dalya Luttwak has been working on a series of large-scale metal sculptures that symbolically represent the root systems of various plants. Her sculptures are site-specific or site-responsive. She uncovers the hidden beauty of roots, exploring the relationship between what grows above the ground and the invisible parts below of various root systems. Her sculptures reveal what nature prefers to conceal. More artist information: dalyaluttwak.com.
