Intro to Adobe Premiere Pro Video Editing

Presented by Docs In Progress at Docs In Progress

This training workshop is designed for anyone new to the Adobe Creative Cloud video editing program Premiere Pro; anyone switching from other editing software like Final Cut Pro; or anyone who has used Premiere on-and-off but wants to master the software.  You'll learn the interface, how to establish a workflow, ingest video, use tools to cut/trim/move/place your material where you want it, incorporate still pictures, and add basic transitions/titles/audio and video effects.  Source footage is provided for participants who will work on Mac workstations (two participants to a computer).

This class takes place once a week for four consecutive weeks (Wednesdays from 7:00–10:00 pm) at the new Docs In Progress location at 801 Wayne Avenue.

LEVEL
I/II – No prior training at Docs In Progress required.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

H. Paul Moon is a filmmaker, composer and video artist who edits all of his projects using Adobe Premiere Pro. Moon’s debut was the award-winning El Toro — an experimental work that explores connections between the ancient ritual of Spanish bullfights, and the passion of the Christ. Prior to El Toro, Moon filmed the award-winning documentary R. Luke DuBois: Running Out of Time, profiling a composer and visual artist who explores cultural and romantic memory. Other selected films include: the documentary Hamac Cazíim, about a punk band using music to maintain their indigenous heritage; Time Crunch, a collaboration with composer Jordan Kuspa; and Simple Machines with an original music score by R. Luke DuBois — all official selections at film festivals internationally. His newest documentaries are LowerTown Paducah, about an artist relocation program in Kentucky, and The Saxon New World, about 19th-century settlers in rural Missouri. Projects still in production include four feature-length documentaries: about the American composer Samuel Barber, cowboy poetry, Fluxus art, and the life of Whittaker Chambers — an espionage thriller. Moon is credentialed as an Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) in Premiere. Selected video samples are available at http://vimeo.com/channels/zen.
