Summer Camp 3: The Golden Goose $710 Age 7-9 July 10, 2017 – July 21, 2017 9:00 am – 3:00 pm on Mon-Fri
The Golden Goose is a traditional East Indian Jataka Shadow Puppet tale about a King who seeks the magical powers of the feathers of an elusive and rare golden goose. Our version comes to life during Diwali, the Festival of Lights with the traditions of Rangoli sand art, lantern-making and the appearance of Ganesha the Elephant god of wisdom and Lakshmi the goddess of prosperity. Principles of wisdom, friendship and brother/sisterhood are celebrated when the Kings head hunter, his daughter, and her devoted blood brother conspire to free the Golden Goose and return her to the Lake of Fragrant Lilies. Students realize the adventure through Bollywood, hip hop, contemporary ballet, modern and jazz dance forms.
