Le Vent du Nord at Carpe Diem! Silver Spring Contra Dance

Le Vent du Nord at Carpe Diem! Silver Spring Contra Dance

Presented by Carpe Diem Arts at Silver Spring Civic Building

Carpe Diem Arts, along with our partners Folklore Society of Greater Washington, Washington Revels and the MoCo Rec Dept, is excited to once again present the Québecois band, Le Vent Du Nord, at our monthly Silver Spring Contra Dance. Whether you're a veteran or  first-time contra dancer, you won't want to miss this chance to dance to Le Vent Du Nord's catchy songs and tunes - including traditional Québec folk songs and original compositions. The group includes rich and varied instrumentation (fiddle, bouzouki, guitar, accordion, hurdy-gurdy), well-polished musical arrangements, and wonderful vocals.

Janine Smith will call the dances.

All ages welcome; no partner needed.
Great exercise and fun to boot!

7:00-7:30pm -- Introductory lesson
7:30-10:00pm -- Dance the night away

Refreshment break at 8:45pm.

The monthly dance is made possible with the generous support of Montgomery County's Department of Recreation -- as part of the "BE ACTIVE MONTGOMERY" initiative.
