Women of Maidan

Women of Maidan

Presented by Docs In Progress and Takoma Park Arts at Takoma Park Community Center

In November 2013, after peaceful student demonstrators at Maidan Square in Ukraine's capital Kiev were met with violence by the country's special police forces, thousands of people from across the country descended on the square in support of the students. Women courageously filled the streets, energized the nation, and sustained the protestors for over two months in the cold of winter. This is the story of the women behind what became known as the "Revolution of Dignity." Following the screening, filmmaker Olha Onyshko will participate in a Q&A moderated by Erica Ginsberg.
