From Maryland’s capital to the Music Center at Strathmore, the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra (ASO) shares memorable symphonic music. The Mediterranean lifestyle of Spain and Italy comes to life in the music of master composers Claude Debussy and Ottorino Respighi. Music Director José-Luis Novo conducts the ASO for an afternoon concert that opens with the Catalan music champion Xavier Montsalvage’s Sortilegis. World-renown guitarist Manuel Barrueco brings new life to Joaquín Rodrigo’s famous guitar concerto Concierto de Aranjuez. An audience favorite, Respighi’s Pines of Rome, finishes the program.
