Maritime Voices at Big Train

Maritime Voices at Big Train

Presented by Washington Revels at Shirley Povich Field

At each home game, Big Train honors two nonprofits that have made extraordinary contributions to Montgomery County. On June 24th, Big Train once again honors Washington Revels, featuring performances by Maritime Voices! We’ll sing before and during the game, plus you can help us sing “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” at the 7th-inning stretch!

More about Big Train: The Bethesda Big Train, named for Washington Senators pitching great Walter Johnson, is a summer collegiate wooden-bat team playing in the Cal Ripken Sr. Collegiate Baseball League. Over its 15-year existence Big Train has produced over 100 professional baseball players. In 2011 Big Train was the #1-ranked summer team in the nation.

Big Train’s home games are played at Shirley Povich Field in Cabin John Regional Park (near Montgomery Mall in Bethesda). Povich Field is a wonderful ball park that makes fans feel they are back in small-town America. The Washington Post called it the “ultimate small-town fantasy.” The park seats 850 and for most games the stands are full. The concession stands offer the best ballpark value in the D.C. area. Come see, hear, and taste for yourself!

Admission Info

Thanks to the Trawick Foundation, Big Train’s honoring of Revels includes 100 tickets to the game. This year we are once again offering them to volunteers and donors for free. The remaining tickets we are selling for $5 each (tickets normally $9 for adults). This is a chance to see a game while supporting Revels!

If you and any family/friends would like to attend, send an email to the program coordinator Ross Wixon at rwixon@revelsdc.org with your name and the number of tickets you would like (first come, first served!). You can pay for them at the ballpark. Come on out, sing along, and enjoy the fun!
