SummerFest Lawn Party and Fireworks is Gaithersburg’s new illuminating event that combines and expands upon the best aspects of traditional July 4^th Fireworks and the Celebrate! Gaithersburg street festival, creating one large summer lawn party on the expansive grounds of Bohrer Park.  The party starts at 5pm with live music from one of DC's top dance bands, Nation, local craft brews in our SummerFest TapHouse operated by DogFish Head Alehouse, large inflatables including a dual-lane zipline, a classic car show, corn hole tournament, aerialists, face-painting, balloon twisting, amazing local artists and much more.

Once the sun sets (approximately 9:20 p.m.), Bohrer Park will light up with a spectacular fireworks display featuring bursts that launch up to 500 feet in amazing colors and styles.  But the fun doesn't stop once the fireworks end! The grand finale will be a brand new SummerGlo After Party, featuring even more live music, and an array of LED performers on the front lawn.  It is recommended that those who park onsite plan to stay and enjoy SummerGlo, as significant traffic delays are expected following the fireworks display. Bohrer Park is within a ¼ mile walk of Olde Towne, Gaithersburg, where there will be free parking in a variety lots and in the parking garage.

If the fireworks are canceled due to inclement weather, select SummerFest activities will be moved inside the Activity Center at Bohrer Park on Saturday, July 1, and the fireworks ONLY will be rescheduled for Sunday, July 2.
