How trustworthy is your memory? How do you cull the stories you need to tell from the complicated tangle of memory? This workshop will explore “true writing” in the form of the personal narrative, employing literary techniques such as dialogue, tension, and conflict. Participants are asked to bring a copy of The Best American Essays 2016 edited by Jonathan Franzen to the first class.
