Join three lit mag editors for a hands-on session to insure success for your short stories and essay submissions. For this class, writers will bring the opening page from a story or essay to share with editors of Potomac Review, Little Patuxent Review, and Delmarva Review. The three editors will present best practices, strategies, and editorial insights into the all-important first paragraphs of short stories and essays as well as provide instant feedback to all participants. This session is a chance to get inside –not one—but three editors’ heads, and learn what sort of openings make them want to read on. The editors will also lead a discussion on submission best practices, including cover letters, record-keeping and literary good citizenship. Writers will take away three editorial opinions, a useful checklist and suggestions for polishing for publication.
