BlackRock proudly debuts Hypnotic Brass Ensemble for its 2017-18 season opener. Hypnotic Brass Ensemble are seven brothers from the south side of Chicago whose talent is deeply rooted in their genes and their brass brotherhood is paving its own way through the halls of music history. Sons of Jazz musician, Phil Cohran, their sounds echo a heritage of impassioned soul. Touring Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa and South America with notable talent from Prince, Mos Def, Mick Jones (The Clash) and Damon Albarn (Blur, Gorillaz). Hypnotic Brass Ensemble has showcased their chest-thumping compositions at Coachella, WOMAD AU, Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Sydney Opera House and Carnegie Hall. Their wildy popular hit “War” was featured in the blockbuster hit movie, Hunger Games.
