Celebrate Gaithersburg’s long and storied history with the railroad. View model train displays, explore a caboose and RDC rail car, visit the 1918 steam locomotive, and participate in train-related activities.

Discover the magic of trains at the Gaithersburg Community Museum’s Train Days. Visitors are invited to celebrate Gaithersburg’s long and storied history with the railroad. Visitors are invited to view model train displays, explore a caboose and RDC rail car, visit the 1918 steam locomotive on display in the adjacent History Park, and participate in train-related activities. While there, discover hands-on learning centers and shop for train-related items in the Museum. With any luck visitors can also enjoy the sights and sounds of the actual CSX and AMTRAK trains that frequently rumble past the Museum.
